Resume Tailoring Pain Point
I keep seeing the same pattern with clients. They invest in getting their resume right and it looks great. Then they start applying and hit a wall because they're sending the same resume to every job.
The problem isn't the resume. It's that every job posting speaks a slightly different language even when the role is basically the same.
One company calls it "incident management" and another calls it "production support." One wants "infrastructure as code" and another says "automated provisioning." Same skills, different vocabulary, and the ATS doesn't care that you meant the same thing.
The real work starts after the resume is done. You have to read each posting, identify their specific language, and mirror it back without turning your resume into a copy-paste of the job description. Most people either skip this entirely or overdo it to the point where the resume doesn't sound like them anymore.
I've been thinking about what a good solution looks like here. Something that takes your resume and a job posting, shows you where the language gaps are, and gives you suggestions without losing your voice. Not a magic button, but a tool that makes tailoring faster and more intentional.
