Tutorials Don T Stick Building Does

Most tutorials never stick.

I sat through hundreds of them early in my career. Followed along, nodded, felt productive. Then I tried to use what I "learned" and realized I couldn't build anything without the video open in another tab. Pause, copy, unpause, wait go back, pause again.

What actually works is building something. Anything. Pick a tool you want to learn and make something with it, even if it's small and dumb. The debugging, the getting stuck, the questioning your career choices over a missing semicolon... that's where learning actually happens.
