Don T Wait Until January 1st

If you're waiting until January 1st to start something, you've already lost two weeks.

I get the appeal. Clean slate, fresh year, feels like the "right" time to begin. What actually happens is you start cold, the motivation fades, and by mid-February you've quietly abandoned it (right next to that gym membership).

What works better is starting now, even if it's messy, and even if the holidays make it inconsistent.

Because by January 1st, you've already got a head start. You've hit the bumps, figured out what's realistic, and built up some momentum. That's a totally different place to be.

The best time to start was months ago and the second best time is today.
